Let's talk about words.

WARNING. OFFENSIVE WORDS ARE USED A LOT IN THIS THREAD. THIS IS CONSIDERED A RANT, VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. IF YOU TAKE OFFENSE FROM THIS, THEN IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT.

Yeah, we're getting into this topic. This thread is for open DEBATE. Any signs of trolling, hate speech, and such will not be allowed.

So, let's talk about words and why they are so pointless but effective.

This is sparked by me being called out as a racist bigot on the server by calling my friends "Niggerfaggots."
The word itself is a trend from iDubbzzTV, it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Why are people offended by these words?

First off, Faggot. The word Faggot never stood for gay people, you know that right? Back in the day, when you called someone a faggot, it was because they were...you know...being like a faggot. Whining, complaining, bitching, being annoying, being a douche, being mean, being pretentious, etc. If I see two dudes sucking each other off, I'm not going to call them faggots. But if one of them pops a dick out of their mouth and starts doing all of things considered to be faggotry, I would call them a faggot. Not because he's gay, but because he's being like a faggot.

Now, cabbage. That should be obvious why people are offended, right? It's typically used as a way to discriminate blacks. What people seem to forget more than 95% of the time is the actual definition of cabbage. Yes, there is a non racist definition, even if not official. cabbage doubles as a racial slur and as a way to describe an ignorant/foolish/uneducated individual, regardless of race. The latter definition is the one that everyone ALWAYS forgets, especially BLM. The ironic part of this word is that it is often used to discriminate and display hatred against blacks, but yet the word is popular in the black community.

"But, that makes no sense!"

No it doesn't, Billy! Welcome to planet Earth!

"So how come they can say it even though it discriminates themselves?"

They change the last to letters to "uh" and "a", to display "nigguh" and "cabbage!"

"Oh, so if I say cabbage I won't be considered racist?"

No, you'll still be considered racist, no matter what form you use!

"That makes no sense."

Read the first response, Billy!

Now anyways, when you use the word, the words surrounding it tend to help get your tone and point across.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY: FIND THE RACIST QUOTE!!!

1. "You're a bad test taker? cabbage, you just mean you're fucking stupid."

2. "Niggers should hang from trees, White Power!"

3. "Yo, whaddup my cabbage?"

Answer:

"Durrrh....all of them?"

No, fuck off Black Lives Matter!

The racist one is the #2. The first one is questionable depending on who you say that to. What is also hypocritical is that black people can use terms such as "cracker" and such to describe white people in a negative way. Even if it is a shitty hate word, it's a hate word nonetheless.
\
If you actually get offended by words that people say over the internet, specifically people that:

1. You barely know.
2. You don't know in real life.
3. Your chances of meeting them IRL are slim.

Then, here's the final message.

let me put my two cents in here, and im notorious for being a #triggered tumblrite so nothing i say is going to be new or surprising, lots of powerleveling for the sake of where im coming from vs the majority of what yall come from

not news that im trans and (obviously) severely mentally ill, and white. also 21 years old. muh white privilege aside, i think its just shitty in general to call anyone a "cabbage", regardless of context. i HATE people saying that words "belong to them" (see: "aave") but i think that calling someone a cabbage is the same as calling someone a spic or a redskin, or even using "muslim" and "terrorist" interchangeably (although i fully buy into what milo yiannopoulos says about that issue, look him up, hes a fucking awesome dude that got banned on twitter recently for "harassing" the black ghost busters actress lol).

its different when it comes to "faggot" or "tranny", and if i had to guess, it may be due to the fact that you can "become" gay or trans or whatever, while you dont have a fucking choice if youre born black or middle eastern and are forced to be ~le marginalised~ as society would call it. it kind of resembles the difference between "throwing shade" and "reading" someone. if you know what im talking about, good. if you dont know, urban dictionary exists. shade is meant to be offensive, while reading someone typically is stating facts about the person, just in a way that might spark tension

i live in a majority black neighborhood, and i know that if i said "cabbage" regardless of context, id probably die on the spot LOL. "cabbage" is entirely different because its not inherently racist at all, while other terminology is. i would not in my right mind call anyone who i dont know personally a spic or a cabbage or whatever else. racism is imo the worst thing you could be a part of because whether you mean to or not, people WILL label you as someone who hates an entire group of people, because of one word. trans people (the sane ones, not the fake ones on tumblr) and gay people generally dont get offended by derogatory terms unless they are overly sensitive.

idk what this thread even is. yeah it might depend on context but dont call random people derogatory shit--especially racist shit--unless youre fully okay with getting dragged to the ends of the earth. hasnt anyone heard of being a decent human being?

calling mentally ill ppl crazy or whatever they might get le triggered by is dodgy. do it if you know the person cuz its funny. if youre talking to a schizophrenic or someone you dont know what their illness is, you better call someone to make your gravestone now because youre in high, freezin cold waters, cuz they could kill you, literally. same with racist stuff. some people are just really sensitive to that. respect that

"Hey, let's change the -er with an -a ending in the N word, because that's gonna make it better and less racist."
- Intelligent Individuals

Regardless if some people think that a word is racist and others think it's not, I, personally, would shut my mouth because there are always a few who WILL take offense to it, even if it was a joke

Silly humans, you're all one race, the human race, your skin color is meaningless, if everyone was bloody grey people would still find something to discriminate against another group of people.
Now while I've made a damn good effort not calling people 'faggots', I don't think I've ever spouted the word 'cabbage' because people get more offended over that than me calling them a bundle of sticks.
Nice rant, btw. Love you always <3
