Quick look at jb_complex

Recently I've been working on a new jailbreak map, the exact theme is undecided however I will be using the frontline textures once I actually start texturing it. The map itself is meant to be a mix of open and enclosed similar to snowday without the cancer elements. I'm expecting a first release in early january, but a late december release is still possible(be it textured or not). The map is far from finished, so expect major and minor changes over the course of this mapping endeavor.

So far the map includes:
-A working thought out cell area
-Obby(subject to change)
-Climb(subject to minor changes)
-Sweeper
-Soccerfield
-Nine square
-Crush game
-Straferace(subject to minor changes)

You can shoot through the nine square and crush game doors btw. I have yet to label anything, so you're gonna have to guess around a bit.

Are original mini games not a thing anymore. Is it all just copying other peoples work?

make a game where the reds find a place to hide and after like 30 - 45 secs the red team will be frozen then a person on blue goes down and hunts them. then you can set it to once the final 5 are alive or 3 or 1 it stops. idk if you could do this but it seems like fun

Yeh, a mini surf map would be really cool. I know I'm not being that specific but. Adding to the 4th dimension thing add a tesseract like building for jeopardy you know how sick that would be.

Here's the thing, Simple is a good map. Perhaps this is subjective, but I enjoy playing Simple more because it plays smoother and feels less intensive on other computers. Especially with the latest update to the map, the minigame selection is great. It's also important to note that Simple is not done per se, it's still in development and many of the suggestions the community makes shapes the way the map turns out. Simple is partially a product of the community, things that people suggested and wanted were things that made it into the map.

you see, thats part of the problem. we as the community don't care about it anymore for its updates plus hes making another map while updating another which means shitty ideas can carry over. even if people suggested them like disco, he makes it shit either way.

I never intended to add disco, it was a last minute addition to make b8 distinguishable from b7. Simple's faults lie in it's layout, which is drastically different from what I'm trying to accomplish with complex.

Yeah adding a surf part like we had on jb_wip would be interesting, and maybe something like ladders on the back of the armory or something for snipers to get up to? Like on jb_casuarina where there's a ladder on top of deathrun that they usually get up on.
