No. It's mostly for 3rd person camera exploits and if you taunt during the end of the round, you stay in the taunt position in the next game. That's huge in competitive.

There's really not reason NOT to do this in a competitive scenario, considering if you try to use your melee in a legitimate game you'll probably be eviscerated quickly by the enemy team.

You couldn't do that anyway because we would've needed a definite "I will be there" person to play engi or we would've been stuck.

You guys know the reason highfive is banned is because it used to have an obvious pros to it.
-3rd person.
-demoman + stickytrap + thirdperson =/= Sneaky pick without being seen.
-Scout for enemy flanks, they'd have no clue because they can't see you but you can see them.
-It can be toggled so you can cancel it at any time and run off.

The captains should create steam groups so when the times and dates of the practices are decided the players will get notifications.
