SO YOU WANNA BE A GOOD ENGINEER EY?
There's a couple of things ya gotta do if you wanna do a good do. I'm gonna present to you some cool tricks and tips for you to learn that I totally came up with on my own. Keep in mind that the engineer is the most useless class on jailbreak servers.
YOU SEE THIS BUSH HERE?

These bushes can be excellent hiding spots for your tiny sentry guns (mini-sentries.) Since the mini-sentry is so small, the bush can practically render out the mini-sentry. Watch out for the glowing light on top, though.
TIP:
Always stay close to your buildings. This is usually common sense for most video gamers because "hey, I built this thing, I should probably protect it" knowledge. This is also as of why a lot of people like to use the Rescue Ranger, since you can haul your buildings at very long ranges. But sadly, the Rescue ranger is getting nerfed.
"Rescue Ranger
- The ability to repair buildings safely from range without using metal is powerful. Combine this with the ability to instantly teleport buildings from far away - which by itself is interesting and useful enough in many circumstances - and you end up with a package that is very strong.
- Changes:
- Ranged repairs now consume metal (at a 4-to-1 health-to-metal ratio, e.g. repairing 60 damage costs 15 metal)"
TIP:
As an engineer, its practically useless to be healed by a medic or to be urbercharged by one. You have a dispenser, use it. The only time you should ever need a medic is if you are in this scenario:
1. You are very low on health
2. No medpacks or ammo(metal) packs are around
3. Your dispenser is far away/you have not built one yet.
If you do not meet these requirements to have a medic heal you, don't make the medic heal you.
SUGGESTION:
The reason as of why I call this a suggestion is because it is very debatable as of what should be built first. The sentry or the dispenser. If you are near or close by hostile territory, I highly recommend you to build a sentry gun to protect yourself from incoming hostile players. On the other side, if you are kinda far away or not too close but not too far then I suggest you build a dispenser to set up your nest and be safe with a metal and health supply.
