Why the 5 post rule for new members...

Howdy,

Beeper here, reknown for cheating at Solitaire.
I'm wondering why there is a 5 post rule on "new" accounts?
Obviously it's to "protect" against spam accounts flooding the forum, but can't that be detected after 3 posts?
Or is there something that happened in the past to which I'm not aware?
I tried searching for the reason but no luck.
Maybe it's in the Admin section of the forum (if there is one here) which I can't see...
Anyway - I see that one reply to another post got blocked or is in stasis, and can't understand why.

5 posts?
Hmmmm...🎸

Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly.
It says "Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly.
Above that it says, "This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors."

Ok. But why? Please don't block the question or my follow-up (this post).
It's a legitimate question and one I tried to research via the search function before posting.
Thanks for your time!

It's for the mods to check spam and make sure no one is on the forums only to just troll or be rasist, ect
