Jb_District is getting a Remake

I am working on a Winter remake for Jb_District.
I've been posting most of my progress in a JB mapper discord I share with some other known mappers like Denied and Ivy, but you can check out some of the stuff here:
https://gamebanana.com/wips/49447

Main Information
District_Event changes District's theme and setting entirely. We move from an European town to an Antarctic Facility inspired by maps like FMPone's Sub-wicked and Movies like John Carpenter's "The Thing"
Lore:
In the map we meet a Fictional company called "BLAIR MINING INDUSTRIES" (B.M.I), which specializes in researching discoveries from the frozen lands of Antarctica. But one discovery leads to a chain of unexpected events that change the universe the map is set in, forever.
Goal of the map:
The First goal of District_event is to simplify some of the more complex District's features but also to make simple features of District complex, to change how the map is played. Original District had thoughtfuly placed props to block sniper's vision and to access higher grounds that give players advantage. It played like a cs map. Now I want to introduce new elements to the map to see how the littlest changes can affect gameplay in a map like this.
The Second goal of District_event is to introduce the most beutiful visuals in a TF2 Jailberak map yet. It's Night Time, It's Antarctica and It has orange lighting. What else would you want?

You didn't say anything about improved optimization, I trust that your brushwork has gotten cleaned up and that you'll be able to run vvis this time.

Brushwork is a little bit more complex in this version, and I'm not sure if vvis will work, but I hope I removed the problem that blocked vvis mid-remaking

Its fine to have complex brushwork as long as you func_detail it, and if you ever hit the max_planes limit you can use propper to turn certain things into static props. Not only does it cut down on brushes but it makes it disappear behind occluders which I know you like using.

propper still works? I thought it was still broken for TF2
I've used it for years, follow that tutorial and you'll be good to go.

I'm sorry for the delay (this remake was supposed to come out in december) but I constantly get errors, new ideas and take breaks during the development. I hope to release this map approximately in the next 2 months.

Last delay I took was because of Climb. I had no idea how to begin working on it. Didn't know if I wanna remake it completely or just retexture the old climb's layout since it just kinda stuck with me. But now I'm back and settled on remaking the entire climb. I still hope to include the surf part.

Our cameras are faulty recently. Some cameras broke down completely. We can't find the source of the disruptions.
It's speculated to be a hack-attack from an Unknown Source.
We are worried of a leak of information of our association with T####.

If a map is going to have a surf then any server owner who runs the map needs to edit their Cvars..

These are from the server owner of the surf server I used to play on:

"tf_scout_air_dash_count": "1"
"sv_gravity": "800"
"sv_accelerate": "10"
"sv_airaccelerate": "220"
"sv_wateraccelerate": "10"

(If Yuki does this I might add surf minigames to my maps??)

No it didn't, thats why it had that weird push trigger at the end with the "surf assist" button. You need these cvars to have a normal surf experience

Actually usually depending on the angle, you don't 100% need those cvars for a surf ramp work well. I've been testing this for months with a ramp on my own dedicated server with good results. I've found that doing any kind of air strafing or jumping from ramp to ramp is not going to work without the correct cvars, though. Best you can get is one to two ramps before losing speed.

While WIP had the trigger at the end, it wasn't present throughout the entire ramp, and wasn't a requirement to even finish the game. District has had a completable surf ramp since it's release with only the casual few saying they can't surf on it, because they can't strafe.

anyway, I feel like this thread is gonna get locked like, semi soon, so lets stay on topic eeeeeee
