Jb_simple is turning 2 in august, by then I will be releasing a map in the same style as simple.

The original simple utilized dev textures with the unit count in the top left corner removed, this map will be sing entirely custom textures that utilize the same style in a different way. The goal is to retain the original's style while still creating a new map that people will hopefully enjoy.

All the games from the original simple will make a return in some shape or form, fully realized and less terrible. The only game that will not be returning is minefield, because minefield is shit.

If you have any minigame suggestions, feel free to leave them here. Gearhop will not be added, I will not state why as you already know.

The map itself is very early in development, expect heavy changes. For those keeping track, I did heavily state that I was working on a quake remake, and I still am. However I'd much rather put it off for now as I am not in the head space to make a map of that caliber just yet.





Btw, that is chinese for black ghost.

These lights are breakable, if you break all of the cell lights the backup battery turns on an emergency red light in all cells.

This box is too small for a player to fit in, when attempting to enter the same voiceclip from the original simple's dick secret will be played.
As you can tell, the map is pretty empty currently. However this will change in due time as I keep working on the project, august is a long time from now so I have plenty of time to get it right. All the textures are custom made utilizing adobe illustrator and photoshop(including the cardbard and battery logos).

Planned additions:
-A 3d skybox
-More rebelspots
-A use for the no homegineer
-A bunch of minigames(including disco)
-A finished layout
-More rebelspots and secrets

Gonna be honest, if this replaces simple on the map rotation that'd be epic but 2 maps with basically the dev texture on rotation would be mega yikes.
Besides that the layout on this from the looks of it is kinda interesting and idk if its just me or lighting but the textures look different than simple in a good way

For the sake of not covering tracks I refuse to delete simple from the gamebanana, however this IS intended to replace simple. The texture work is by far the most fun part of the map to work on in my opinion. I'll leave a proper download link to all of them when I find a chance to do so.

If you want you can have my Sweeper and Crush Game remakes, I redid the logic entirely to make them both work a little bit different. Sweeper has the biggest improvement IMO, you'll see.

Sorry about the lack of updates, I've been juggling a bunch of projects at once and only just recently did I have the willpower to work on simpler again. The layout is being redone almost entirely. The main cell area is the same but the everything else is gone. I've been posting progress here and there on discord if you're interested, but here are a few things I'd like to update you on:

-Every cell has a breakable light, if all lights are broken the backup battery will enable a red emergency light in their place that cannot be broken. The backup battery functions similarly to the engibox from simple, it can be destroyed by reds to open the armoury door, and the blues can replace it with an unbreakable battery to make the armoury door inaccessible again.

-Fallgame has been replaced with a weird mix of fallgame and crushgame called "Safe!", essentially it has the playfield of fallgame, but instead of the boxes being eliminated one by one, all boxes are destroyed except for 1, 3, or 5 boxes that act as safezones. When the boxes have been destroyed, all the boxes reappear again.

-The nohomegineer is making a return from complex. Note that this map is not just a remake of simple, it's also a spiritual successor to complex, so a lot of ideas will be taken from complex aswell. Anyway! This time around the nohomegineer doesn't actually do much, he just sits on his 'Pakco. branded packaging remains™' in peace. However if you hit him a couple times or so, he'll puke on you and explode like usual.
(note that this footage is a little old, this area is way prettier now.

This is all I feel like telling you, the rest you'll have to keep up with yourself. Oh and just for the record, the texture designs are final, but the texturing is the least of my worries right now.

Can you add a secondary cell area with other "inmates" that are bots? So if reds free them they can help rebel. Haha
