At 3:20 am, a random person added my friend (Eggs) to trade with him. The user wanted to buy both his Counter Strike Global Offensive knives, but he offered +475 key profit. At this point, we both knew something was wrong. A few minutes later the person started asking if they knives were "verified". First I thought he was checking if the knives were duplicated or not. After proving that they are not, he kept asking and linked a "steam employee" to "verify" the knives. Now I and Eggs knew this guy was trying to scam him. Eggs added me and the user who's name is .mops to a chat room. When I asked why he was overpaying they said because they are a collector. When I asked why does the "steam employee" only has 2 friends he said that I was fake and left. He told Eggs that he is not trading with me which is true. However, when Eggs asked him why the "steam employee" doesn't have THE STEAM EOMPLOYY BADGE the guy unfriended him and ran. I'd like to ask you guys to report the scammer and the "steam employee" to make sure they both get banned. Thanks!

This inventory belongs to the real mops4. He is a legit trader. The scammer has a private inventory, but has a link to it. I'd like to thank Ultra Caucasian for pointing this out to me.

PSA to everyone:
If someone you are trading with asks you to send your items to another person, for ANY reason, they are a scammer. Verifying items is not a thing.

Pro tip:
Don't accept a friend request if their inventory or profile is private. There's a 99% chance they're a scammer.

The problem is he is a legit trader and people copy has name and inventory link into their profiles and try to scam that way.
I'm aware of this. I'm saying the impersonator is banned on SteapRep. Always check someones SteamRep before trading with them.
Also, if the trade seems too good to be true, it is also usually a scam.

Looks like the person in question got taken down, I clicked on the Profile Link and there wasn't one there.
