Personally, Earthbound is a great game and I love it to death. Many people over the years have forgotten about it and the series because it didn't sell well but it honestly was my favorite out of the mother series. If you haven't already played Earthbound or any mother game then I'd advise you do, it has great characters you become fond of and get to care about. I won't spoil anything for you because if you haven't played any of the games then it would be bad if I did.
