Jailbreak Manager Dispute

So apparently the idea to ban the spellbook came up because 1769 was killed by it.
Just gonna throw that out there and let it sink in (keep in mind I'm a red player, not a blu player)

It's interesting to see that long time members tend to vote yes while newer members vote no.
Keep in mind, people change. It may be hard to believe, but 1769 is not the same 1769 you may remember. I myself remember a sporting and energic guy, and now I see a dull and tired man. Kinda sad honestly, but facts have to be faced.

It was a completely logical reasoning and gathered from the opinions of many different players. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't make it BS. Why are you so caught up on this one rule? I even said I'll bring it up in the next rule discussion so it's not like it's set in stone.

The spellbook is not meant for JB. I guess it would be ok if we allowed it as part of an LR though.

I can't really help if you don't understand why a spellbook isn't meant for JB.

So the only rules that will be added tomorrow are

No Spellbook

and

RED(s) may be respawned on first day freeday if the cell doors have not been opened. (Admins are not required to give BLUs notification for this respawn).

The rule for taking bows out are considered rebel will not be added this time around since not enough people responded, but think about it for next month.
Also I noticed that the section of useful commands I made at the bottom disappeared (*cough* @Asu *cough*), so I will be rewriting it. I believe it included !rtv, !firewarden, and something else I forgot and if you guys want something added let me know. Also if you are on JB today or tomorrow tell some of the non-forum players about the rule update so they know.

That's the thing, there is nothing to argue because it's common sense. If you can't see why this isn't meant for JB then I have no idea what to even tell you. Not much else to say.

If you can't make a valid argument why the spellbook shouldn't be allowed then don't ban it, common sense is not a valid argument.

Same reason grapple hook isn't meant for JB.
Besides, I've played on this server for couple years - I've never seen anyone use the spellbook on JB - There's really no reason to have the spellbook either, same reason you can't charge as demos, or use a caber or whatever balancing tweaks.

When he says "common sense" he means it's OP, and like white said, if JB had a grappling hook, it would also be OP.

There's an easy counter argument to it being 'op' but I'll save that for a relevant situation.

It can be OP for either side. If a red gets it, it can instantly kill guards, making a hard task a MUCH easier one. Also, the spellbook has major freekill potential.

Ah that time I thought it was Glaze spawning monoculus using admin commands. Then I discovered it wasn't.
In any case you or Dic incorrectly came to the conclusion that I banned spellbook because I was killed by it. That part is not true.

The point of this thread is not to listen to his reasons, it's for the community to decide if we want a change in JB Manager. You could argue that his reasons would help us further understand him, but from what I can gather about 17 is that he leads by example. So what weve seen of him is what we should base our votes off of

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the democratic process, but this whole "dispute" seems unnecessary, it's been what, 3 months since 17 was given this position? That isn't a hell of a lot of time, so what's the sense in changing our horse halfway through the race? I mean, give him 6 months at least. If we're honestly concerned about his activity, why not just ask him to spend some more time on jailbreak? Or, if he can't, why not assign him someone or some people who can accurately communicate the opinions of the jailbreak community so he can make decisions as manager based on that?
