The polls aren't closed, but it looks like the majority are in favor of the added rules!
Asu is already flirting with these ideas, so I'd say we are in for a good amount of change.Keep in mind, just because we approve of the rule set does not mean the entire thing will be exactly as in the rule book or even added at all.
The rules we have now are fine, I'm just looking at it from a neutral perspective.
Good, we're not in for a good amount of change. We already enforce 90% of this - some of the rules are downright not how we do stuff, though. For example, "warden never said how long we were playing the minigame for" and exiting obby has never been a thing for a year as far as I remember until umbra showed up. I think it's both right and wrong what he's doing. He's adding all the stuff we never bothered to add, but yet, his small playtime on the sever also could make it harder for him to realise stuff like this. And that our way of moderating the servers are far more different than any other server, @Umbra Vorago.Asu is already flirting with these ideas, so I'd say we are in for a good amount of change.
Yeah but I think that in terms of specifics, that's where I get caught up. We need a well defined guideline for everything, do you see my point?Good, we're not in for a good amount of change. No because I don't english. explain it in like stupid english or something (I'm being serious).Yeah but I think that in terms of specifics, that's where I get caught up. We need a well defined guideline for everything, do you see my point?
The rules we have now are very vague in terms of specific scenarios depicted because people enjoy finding loopholes, causing problems, or generally asking strange questions which get me at a place where I can't answer them sometimes, and if I do, they'll say one admin does this or another admin does this. So what is standard? We can't have admins doing different punishments, different rules being enforced and so on and so forth, every admin is different, but not so drastically that some rules are completely enforced by some and not at all by others. No because I don't english. explain it in like stupid english or something (I'm being serious).
Some teachers let their students eat inside the classroom and listen to music, some teachers will throw them out if they do the same. The rules we have now are very vague in terms of specific scenarios depicted because people enjoy finding loopholes, causing problems, or generally asking strange questions which get me at a place where I can't answer them sometimes, and if I do, they'll say one admin does this or another admin does this. Exactly. Examples are helpful for a guideline. Which is what we did. But we need to go deeper than general guidlines. We can't be too vague, and I'm sure cops and teachers must follow specific guidelines for certain situations. Some teachers let their students eat inside the classroom and listen to music, some teachers will throw them out if they do the same.
A cop shoots an unarmed teenager for "resisting" arrest, some cops wouldn't shoot the teenager.
People are different, people handles emotions differently, people handle stressful situations differently - People respond to arguments differently.
We are not robots.
Examples:
I will not slay a BLU for "pressing a button" when all he did was open a door.
I will not care if a sniper shoots an arrow at me and completely misses (pardon him for looking stupid)
I will not care if someone thinks my way of doing things are a bad way of doing things.
I will not care in a lot of situations depending on the scenario. (I would respawn a guy claiming to be freekilled, and has witnesses including me sometimes - but will neglect other people kissing my ass for a respawn without any witnesses)
The reason why it's helpful to have examples is that you have a guideline you can aim with. You don't have to hit the center, just hit the target.
The reason some of these rules will not be fitting to our servers is already obvious if you're a long time member of the SG community.
Shape your own personality, also, most of the rules "admins handle differently" are often examples of some admins enforcing them incorrectly. At least that's my way of seeing it.Exactly.
